Why your PDF is too big to email

PDFs swell because of embedded images. A 50-page report with a few cover-page photos and embedded charts can easily exceed 25 MB. Lossless cleanup (stripping metadata and re-encoding streams) typically saves 10–30%; rasterising image-heavy pages saves 80% or more.

How to compress a PDF for email

Open Converter.Plus's PDF compressor, drop your PDF on the upload area, and start with Lossless mode. If the result is still too large, switch to Rasterise mode at 150 DPI / 80% quality. Both modes run entirely in your browser — your contracts and confidential documents never leave your device.

Targeting specific size limits

Gmail caps attachments at 25 MB. Outlook caps at 20 MB by default. Many corporate gateways enforce 10 MB. The compressor shows the resulting file size in real time so you can dial in just enough compression to fit.
