How the image converter works
Pick the conversion you need from the grid above, or type the format pair into your browser address bar (for example converter.plus/heic-to-jpg). Drag your files onto the drop zone, choose a quality preset if you want to fine-tune the output, and click Convert. Every conversion runs entirely in your browser using modern Canvas, WebAssembly, and WebCodecs APIs — your photos never get uploaded, there is no signup, no watermark, and no per-file size limit beyond your device's available memory.
Which output format should you pick?
- JPG — universal compatibility for photos. Use for sharing with anyone, attaching to email, printing, and uploading to forms that reject newer formats.
- PNG — lossless quality with transparency. Use for screenshots, logos, icons, and graphics with text or sharp edges.
- WebP — ~25% smaller than JPG at the same quality. Use for the web and mobile apps where bandwidth matters.
- AVIF — ~30% smaller than WebP at the same quality. Use as the primary format on modern websites with WebP/JPG fallbacks for older browsers.
